Alumni Careers Seminar

Architecture & Public Relations Careers Seminar

PR and Architecture were the slices of post-Westholme life that our girls enjoyed over lunchtime today.  Former pupils Helen Smith, Natalia Bradford (both 2003 leavers) were first up to tell us about the seven years of intense study to prepare for a career as an architect and by contrast, the dynamic demands of being a football reporter, where multi-tasking and long hours are the name of the game.  These alumnae were followed by 1986 leaver, Liz Talbot (formerly Brown).  Liz’s life as a PR guru had the girls hushed as she explained how she had badgered her way into a Manchester agency, working her way up to running a highly profitable, personally owned business.  The themes across three entirely different career paths were interestingly similar: be passionate about what you do, do anything to get your foot in the door, and never act like you are above any task.  Fascinating to see our Westholme Alumni in action in the world at large, and entirely motivating for current girls.
