Reception enjoy a trip to Brockholes Nature Reserve
The Reception children enjoyed a day of outside learning at Brockholes Nature Reserve. They used binoculars to spot a variety of birds and met some very cheeky mallard ducks, participated in an autumn walk and spotted different leaves like oak and hazel.
The children pretended to be squirrels and hid their nuts in the wood, they had to try to remember where they hid them so they could go and find them later on in the day. They learnt about lots of animals that hibernate over the winter and made clay hedgehogs using natural materials.
Reception worked together to make hedgehog homes from leaves and twigs too!
A great day full of fun was had by all!
