Last weekend Year 10 students took part in another practice expedition, ahead of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award assessment in September.
Five Year 10 groups, 32 students in total, travelled to the Ribble Valley last weekend for another practice expedition. They enjoyed absolutely perfect weather, cloudy with sunny spells, not too hot and dry for both days – a rare event!
It was a successful and enjoyable expedition for all concerned, showing good navigational, teamwork and campcraft skills.
The highlight for many of the weary students was their meal and playing games at the campsite after a strenuous day of walking 12km with a heavy rucksack.
The next step for the intrepid explorers is to start planning their routes for the final assessed expeditions, located in Derbyshire in September.
