Centenary Prep Carol Service

On Monday, Prep pupils came together with their parents and families in the magnificent setting of Blackburn Cathedral for a festive celebration during their annual Carol Service. After a warm welcome from The Very Reverend Peter Howell-Jones, the boys and girls burst into the song, ‘Two Thousand Years Ago,’ which set the opening scene of the Christmas story which was then told through further songs and readings.

Particular favourites were ‘Come to the Stable’ performed beautifully by a very confident Lower Prep and ‘Sing Ye Hosanna’ sung harmoniously by Upper Prep which brought the Christmas story to an end. We were also treated to excellent performances by the Prep string group and orchestra who delighted the congregation with their rendition of ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Silent Night’.

A truly magical afternoon which filled all with the joy and spirit of Christmas. Congratulations to all the pupils who sang, performed, read and played beautifully during this service.
