Chernobyl Children visit Westholme

Westholme Senior School played host to 20 children, aged between 8 and 12 from Chernobyl. They are here for one month and are accompanied by 2 Russian staff and 2 English hosts. The children enjoyed a range of activities throughout the day.

A number of Lower Sixth Form students volunteered to break their study leave to come in for the day. They played board games with the children in the Common Room and also played ball games with them on the field.

After tucking into a school lunch, the children also got the opportunity to use the computer, where they generated pictures of themselves wearing the Westholme uniform, or as celebrities, such as Brad Pitt and David Beckham!

The children left after a very enjoyable day, with, no doubt, many memories of their visit to Westholme School.
