Westholme Head Boy Ben Middleton, Jake Sharrocks and Fin Shepherd will drive across the country to visit all 92 professional league football grounds across the UK in order to raise money and awareness for their chosen charity CALM.
They began their journey by travelling down the road from the Senior School to the home of Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, along with special guest Dr Robson last Friday lunchtime. They were able to meet Lynsey Talbot who is the General Manager at Rovers and gain access to the pitch where they were granted permission to pose for a photograph with a banner that they have had specially made for the trip.
After visiting Ewood they made their way down to the M65 to Turf Moor, the home of Burnley FC, and then over to Accrington Stanley’s Crown Ground.
It was a fantastic way for the boys to start the trip and we can’t wait to hear more updates as they go along.
So far, the trio have raised a fantastic £5,475 – absolutely smashing their initial target of £500. What a brilliant effort!!
Any donations towards the boys cause can be made on their Just Giving page here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TravellingThe92
