40 students and 4 teachers met very early on the morning of Friday 12th July to embark on a 4-day visit to the French capital!
After a long coach journey via Dover and a ferry across the Channel, the group arrived at Chateau de Grande Romaine, on the outskirts of Paris for an active and fun-filled stay.
The busy schedule whilst at the Chateau included: a sightseeing tour of the beautiful city, stopping to climb the steps of Montmartre to the cathedral of the Sacre Coeur to glimpse a view of the city’s famous landmarks before picnicking beneath the Eiffel tower and then a relaxing cruise along the River Seine, taking in more of the sights, a visit to a local town and it’s bustling Sunday market and also a variety of activities at the PGL centre, including; archery, abseiling, trapeze and swimming in the outdoor pool.
Undoubtedly one of the many highlights for the group was the day excursion to Disneyland Paris on Monday, where we spent the day in the two theme parks enjoying the attractions, before making our return journey home overnight.
Needless to say, all the students and teachers were in need of another holiday to recover from the exertions and excitements of our visit to ‘Le Hexagone’!
