The Art department were delighted to welcome local urban landscape artist Gosha Gibek to Westholme on Monday.
The Year 10 students experienced a workshop where they witnessed firsthand the variety of techniques that Gosha uses in the construction of her vibrant and energetic canvases of the towns and cities in the North West of England.
They were taught how to draw from one and two point perspective as well as apply ink, acrylic paint and gloss paint to create the artist’s signature style.
The students will be continuing to work on their paintings in the coming weeks and ultimately Beardwood Hospital will select several of the pupil’s paintings to be displayed in their Cancer Care Unit.
A fantastic day was had by all and we thank Gosha for sharing her experiences and knowledge with us all.
