Junior School pupils finish the 2nd of 3 competitions of with some fantastic results
The girls and boys in the Junior Schools’ Cross Country teams battled through the muddy course at Witton Park on Monday in the second leg of the BDPSSA Cross Country Competition.
Christian Butschok-Brain of the Boys’ Junior School won the boys’ race, in which the competition was particularly strong, helping to add to the points total for the boys’ team and the joint Westholme team.
In the girls’ race, almost 100 girls competed and the team of 6 girls from Westholme performed fantastically, particularly when you consider that 5 of the team of 6 were Year 5 pupils racing against many older girls.
The girls scored 16 points in total and were placed as follows:
Alexa McTiffin – 1st
Lucy Fielden – 3rd
Holly Ribchester – 4th
Olivia Pickford – 6th
Baylie Thompson – 9th
Maddie Laing – 11th
Mrs Griffiths was very proud of all of the Westholme competitors and is hoping that they will be even more successful at the 3rd leg of the competition in a couple of weeks time, when the final result will be announced.
