Sienna Becomes World Champion at Dance World Cup

We are delighted to share some truly wonderful news from our Performing Arts community: Year 7 pupil Sienna Hodgson has been crowned World Champion at the Dance World Cup 2025, held this summer in Burgos, Spain.
At just 11 years old, Sienna represented Team England in one of the world’s largest and most prestigious dance competitions, bringing together thousands of young dancers from 76 countries. Competing in the Children’s category, she performed three solo routines – jazz, lyrical, and contemporary – each choreographed by Emily Charlton, Principal of Vale Studios where Sienna trains.
Her performances were nothing short of outstanding. Sienna took home the gold medal and World Champion title in the Children’s Jazz category, as well as a bronze medal for her lyrical solo and a very impressive 7th place globally in contemporary dance.
Reflecting on her experience, Sienna said:
“It has been an honour to represent my country and I was so shocked at being awarded World Champion – so much so that I cried on stage when it was announced. I have enjoyed every second of it.”
Her journey to the World Cup began with strong performances at the national qualifiers earlier this year, where she also received the coveted Head Judge’s Award. This special recognition gave her the chance to take part in exclusive masterclasses during the international competition.
Sienna’s mum, Rebecca, added:
“I am so proud of her; this is such an incredible achievement at just 11 years old. She is very dedicated to dance and works very hard, but she is so humble and doesn’t realise how talented she is.”
As a further mark of her success, Sienna has been awarded a Golden Ticket – a scholarship-style invitation to return to Spain later this year for an elite masterclass weekend alongside other top young dancers from around the world.
Miss Holland, Director of Performing Arts at Westholme, said:
“We are immensely proud of Sienna. She is a very talented young dancer with a very bright future and we could not be happier for her with her latest success.”
We are thrilled to celebrate Sienna’s incredible achievements on the world stage, and we look forward to seeing her continue to shine both in dance and here at Westholme.
Well done, Sienna – you are an inspiration to us all!
