Spooky W Club Fun

Find out what the W Club did over half term

The children attending W Club over the half term break had an absolute ball! On day one, the children were free to play and participate in the activities available. These included a higher or lower card game, magic tricks with cards, bowling, twister and much more! The children also put on a show Westholme’s got talent! They performed songs, danced and showed everyone some magic tricks. The magical theme carried on into the afternoon, when a visiting magician called Mr Falcon came to visit. He did balloon modelling and there was even a Punch and Judy show.

Eager to return on Day Two, the children went around the world in a day. They visited many countries and continents such as India, where they made diyas (clay handle holders for divali), Africa where they learnt an African dance and China, where they enjoyed making Chinese dragons. England was last on their trip around the world and when they arrived here, they made wonderful bonfire pictures.

A visit to the cinema was enjoyed by everyone on Day Three, the film, Mr Poppers Penguins proved to be a real hit with the children (and staff!) followed by another round of auditions for Westholme’s got talent.

Still as enthusiastic as ever, on Day Four, the children enjoyed making Halloween decorations, including bats, spiders webs and dancing skeletons. They also enjoyed a spooky Halloween treasure hunt around Wilmar Lodge, following clues and collecting treats.

To round the week off, Friday was party day, where everyone dressed up in scary costumes. The children also enjoyed having their faces painted and made chocolate apples, before a big party in the afternoon. Games such as musical bump, pass the parcel and balloon pop were enjoyed by everyone. What a great way to end a week of fun!
