Westholme School

Westholme School have decided to set up this podcast so that parents, pupils and staff can keep in touch with the Westholme Community throughout these unprecedented times. For our first episode we are focusing on this years leavers of the school and celebrate what Westholme means to them. In addition, we also hear from former pupil Laura Backhouse as she looks back fondly on her time at the school.

Fond Memories

It was an emotional day in March when, after the government’s decision to close schools, students were told that their final day had been forced upon them prematurely. We were very proud of the way that our final year students dealt with the situation and the maturity that they have showed over the past few months in what has been a challenging time for them and everyone involved.

As such, we asked our Heads of School to put together a piece based on what Westholme means to them, along with some of their most memorable experiences of the school and with input from their fellow Upper Sixth leavers. We would like to wish all of our leavers the very best of luck  in the future and thank them for everything that they have done for Westholme School. You can listen to what they have to say below.

Laura Backhouse – Alumni 2019

Laura was with the school throughout the entire Westholme Journey, starting at the age of three all the way up to sixth form. She left Westholme in 2019 and is currently studying at the University of York where she is studying Sociology with Social Psychology.
