Sixth Form Induction Day

This Friday, we held our Year 12 Induction Day. Organised by Head of Sixth Form Mr Oracz, students were able to take part in taster lessons across a whole range of subjects that are available to them as Sixth Formers at Westholme.

Students started the day with a welcome in the Common Room by Mr Oracz and other members of staff. It was a chance to get into the mood of things and get a quick briefing from Mr Oracz and the order of proceedings.

Taster lessons took place in each faculty of the school, from the science labs, to art & design, humanities, drama and much more. At lunch there was a delicious outside BBQ put on courtesy of our catering partners Thomas Franks, as well as a pop-up ice-cream van on the Sixth Form car park!

In the afternoon there were activities lined up on the field including an inflatable assault course, sumo wrestling, and tug-of-war amongst other fun team building activities, run by members of the PE department.

Overall it was a great day for students to get involved, meet new friends and learn new things.

It was great to see students taking part in all activities and immersing themselves in the Westholme Sixth Form experience. Finally, to round off the day, there were a range of awards that were given out to the students based on the activities that they had taken in during the day.

Thank you to Mr Oracz for organising a great event, the members of staff who were involved throughout the day, and to the students for taking part.
