‘Blackbirds at Dawn’

Year 12 & 13 Trip to Lancaster Theatre

On Friday evening Sixth Form EPR students attended a performance of ‘Blackbirds at Dawn’, a play that explores human slavery in the modern world. It has been written and directed by Donna Worthington, alumna and former Westholme teacher. She has been studying for an MA in Directing and this is her first production as both playwright and director.

The play was followed by a discussion which enabled the audience to reflect on the thought provoking content and the sad reality of human trafficking in the UK.

Sixth Formers have been inspired to take action and they will now think about how to raise more awareness about this issue in school.
