Reunion lunch sees Old Girls from 20 and 30 years ago return to Westholme
The Old Westholmians’ Reunion Lunch for leavers from 20 and 30 years ago was deemed a great success.
Over 40 ”˜old girls’ and some of their former teachers (Mrs Cave, Mrs Bradbury, Mrs Gibson and Mrs Meadowcroft) came together to reminisce, laugh and even cry as the memories came flooding back. Many of our guests had not been back since they had picked up their A Level results and Mrs Croston was keen to catch up with everyone.
A delicious lunch was put on by our own catering team and over the meal, there was non-stop chatter, as you would expect. Mrs Croston then spoke to the group about all the exciting developments which had occurred over the last few decades and they were mightily impressed. They were amazed to hear we would now have a Senior School for Boys, but thought it was wise of us to adapt to the times whilst still protecting our single-sex ethos.
A tour ensued, but Mrs Croston decided it was preferable to give them the freedom to roam as the ladies wanted to look at their own special areas from the memory bank. Everyone seemed reluctant to leave but we hope to see them all back here again soon!
