In addition to large, spacious and well-stocked classrooms there are plenty of other facilities that the pupils make good use of. The school also benefits from having its own specialist teaching rooms for music, art, design and technology and ICT.
There is an IT suite, with computers networked to those in classrooms, the library and the hall. The library is a bright and inspiring place to be and contains an excellent range of fiction and non-fiction books. There is a large carpeted hall, used for many activities such as assemblies, music lessons, drama and dance. Music practice rooms provide space for individual instrumental lessons.
A second hall offers specialist equipment for PE lessons and also doubles as a dining room over lunchtime. The Junior School has its own kitchen which provides an excellent menu with a wide range of choices. All pupils have a school lunch and specialist diets are catered for.
Outside we have two playgrounds, which provide us with two full sized netball courts which are also used for hockey and other sports. The children are also allowed to play on several grassed areas when the weather is fine. We also have a cross country circuit within the grounds.
In addition to our own facilities we also use the Senior School Theatre, swimming pool, sports hall, astro-turf and athletics field at Senior School. The local church, St Silas’, is used for our Harvest Festival and our Carol Service is held in Blackburn Cathedral.
